JOHN LENNON 1940-80

IMAGINE

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky;
Imagine all the people
Living for today . . .

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too;
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace . . .

Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man;
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world . . .

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one;
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one.

John Lennon MBE was the British singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the  Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed the famous songwriting partnership.
